The Linda Ronstadt Songbook

Linda Ronstadt is a name familiar with many and one that spans many genres. She is one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time. Celebrating 40 years since she first toured Australia in February 1979 at the time when her “Living In the USA” album was riding high, Linda charmed audiences for the first time at Perth’s Subiaco Oval before selling out around the country including the iconic MCG.

Linda’s voice and naive sex appeal have sold her in excess of 100 million records globally. She has released over 30 studio albums, is the winner of 11 Grammys, three American Music Awards and one Emmy Award. She charted 38 Billboard Hot 100 singles and has collaborated with artists in diverse genres including – Bette Midler, Frank Zappa, Warren Zevon, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Neil Young, Paul Simon and Johnny Cash.

In 2019, acclaimed singer/songwriter, Bloom, brings the music of Linda Ronstadt to life with an incredible band featuring some of Australia’s most respected musicians. Expect to hear tracks that made up the 1979 tour set list including timeless hits as Blue Bayou, When Will I Be Loved, It’s So Easy, When Something Is Wrong With My Baby, That’ll Be The Day, Just One Look, Back In The U.S.A, Poor Poor Pitiful Me and many more. Constantly feeling she was born in to the wrong generation, for Bloom, this tour is as personal as it gets.

Bloom has a feverish connection with the decades of the 60’s and 70’s and has a strong urge to bring Linda Ronstadt and the music that is her legacy to the future generations, embracing and reinvigorating Linda’s rich musical history and the architecture she has left on the music industry.

Bloom has had heads turning and has been gaining International critical acclaim with her effortless soulful vocal resonance of power vocalists Adele and Amy Winehouse with her Adele & Amy Songbook tour.

She has been described as “one of Australia’s finest vocalists” and Six-Time Golden Guitar Award Winning singer/songwriter Melinda Schneider describing her as “the next generation of amazing vocalists!” As Linda did to Australian audiences in 1979, come and be charmed by the Australian vocal powerhouse that is Bloom and celebrate all that is Linda Ronstadt.

St Joan + Hollie Col

Nothing beats a good story, set to an infectious melody. Throw exceptional musical prowess, undeniable stage chemistry and and an energetic live show into the mix, and the result is something truly extraordinary.

Such is the case with Sydney trio St Joan, who building from their folk roots, have established themselves as one of the hardest working DIY acts in the country.

Fusing a melting pot of psychadelia, blues, indie and folk, drawing influence from the story-telling of Jeff Buckley and sinister melodies of Radiohead, St Joan’s show is both vulnerable and dynamic.

The trio took their show on the road around the country in 2017 for their first tour, hitting all the staple locations on the 15 date run, and branching out to the regional centers of Coffs Harbour, Maroochydore and Nowra along the way. Often playing for up to 3 hours, the experience was foundational in cementing the band’s ferocious work ethic, creating a telepathic stage language between singer/guitarist Dan, Bassist Chris and drummer Al.

Whether it be flying through their collection of accessible rock-pop treats, or jamming through psychedelic roller coaster epics, the band have developed a style that is both undeniable, yet inexplicable, best summed up in their vulnerable performances. This is captured perfectly in the band’s latest and darkest offering ‘First Blood’

Recorded at Cooper Lane Studios with Chris Collins (Tigertown, Skeggs, Ruby Fields) the song combines the drive of contemporary rock acts Holy Holy and Middle Kids with the washed out atmospherics of War on Drugs and Beach House.

Recounting the breakdown of the family unit and the devastation caused by adultery, First Blood is a vulnerable new creative direction for St Joan, reigniting the often overlooked art of storytelling through song. BUY TIX HERE…
