Whats On

Ramblin’ Nights Feat: Rich Davies and The Low Road + Peta Caswell Band

Ramblin’ Nights have been so much fun each month at Leadbelly Newtown we’ve decided to bring the show South for all the alt/country, blues, Americana music loving folks in the Shire.
We have a rocking lineup for the first show at the beloved Brass monkey.

Renowned for his captivating live shows and superbly crafted songs dragged up from the depths of the soul, award-winning singer-songwriter Rich Davies is gaining a reputation as one of Melbourne’s most authentic and engaging artists. With a poet’s heart and a rocker’s soul, Davies spent his formative years in the folk clubs of Scotland, steeped in the ethos and traditions of the genre. The evolution of his new second album, Ghosts, has seen Davies reconnect with that world, as he peels back the skin of rock’n’roll to expose Old-Time Folk, Americana and Celtic bones.
Rich will have a full band in tow (The Low Road) so expect equal parts fragile and fierce, spanning a sonic spectrum from tender ballads to upbeat foot stompers.

‘Shire Native’ Peta Caswell will have her new band in tow to open the night with a stirring set of alt/country belters. Peta possesses a voice that will stop you in your tracks, with newly written tunes ready to be unleashed, mixed with some older favourites. 2018 is looking to be a big year for Caswell & Band.
